History:
During the Pahlavi era prior to the Revolution, the Refah Cultural Foundation emerged as a progressive grassroots and revolutionary organization in public education through its establishment of dedicated Islamic schools for female students.
Among the founding members of the Refah Cultural Foundation were distinguished personalities including the martyred leaders Dr. Mohammad Hosseini Beheshti, Dr. Mohammad Javad Bahonar, Mohammad Ali Rajaee, along with several faithful associates of Imam Khomeini (may God's mercy be upon him).
"Following the triumph of the Islamic Revolution, the Refah school network underwent significant expansion. With the legal framework now permitting private non-profit educational foundations, plans were initiated to create Refah Higher Education Institute exclusively for women."
"Following approval by Supreme Cultural Revolution Council and the Higher Education Development Council of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology in 2010, Refah Higher Education Institute was founded. Today, through God's blessing, the institute provides higher education opportunities for devoted female students."
In 2014, pursuant to the approval of the Higher Education Development Council, this institute was renamed Refah College.

Mission and Vision of Refah College
The foremost mission of Refah College is to cultivate specialized and committed female professionals in accordance with the criteria and principles of the noble religion of Islam. While the Islamic Revolution has islamized Iran's public sphere, leading to fundamental changes in educational environments from schools to universities, nevertheless To reform cultural issues in society in line with the ideals of Imam Khomeini (RA), continuous efforts must always be made. There is no doubt that exemplary women, as defined by Islam, are essential first for a sound family and consequently for a thriving society. By uncritically adopting Western paradigms of women's social status, the Pahlavi dynasty caused profound harm to multiple generations of Iranian women. Refah College's mission is to rectify current deficiencies and plan strategically for women's development, actualizing Islam's envisioned society where women occupy their rightful position. To fulfill its core objective, Refah College prioritizes providing women access to advanced education across all scientific disciplines up to doctoral levels.
